June 14 - It was a tremendous pleasure to address the Iowa Farm Bureau’s 2024 Economic Summit in Des Moines, Iowa. The Farm Bureau put together a powerhouse slate of speakers and panels addressing the global economic, geopolitical, and market challenges farmers face today. Chicago Federal Reserve Bank President Austin Goolsbee was the keynote, offering some fascinating insights into what is going on with the U.S. economy and his views on when rates will be coming down.

Presenting at the Iowa Bankers Association Annual Convention

It was a great honor and true delight to have the chance to speak at the Iowa Bankers Association Annual Convention in Des Moines, Iowa. When you get in a room with a group of state and local bankers - the men and women who play such a critical role in keeping their community’s economy going and growing — you know you are going to get some very smart, thoughtful questions on the global economy and geopolitics and what it means for their clients and customers.

And being in Iowa - and despite being the one speaking about the upcoming 2024 elections - I came away learning an awful lot from these great folks about where the elections may be headed (not the conventional wisdom!).

It was an honor and great fun to speak at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis Investor Symposium in Detroit last week. The meeting brought together financial leaders who are driving economic growth and innovation in the region. Smart, creative, energetic.
